Dream Racing Australia youngsters to debut in Victorian Excel Endurance Cup

Dream Racing Australia will wrap up its 2024 motorsport calendar this weekend when two teenagers make their motorsport debut at the highly anticipated David Lowe Memorial Excel Cup.

Locked in to run one of the Hyundai Excel Racing Association of Victoria’s premiere events of the year will be 19-year-olds Maximus Scutella and Lachie Fisher, with the pair one of the 11 crews entered for Winton Motor Raceway event.

With Maximus the son of Dream Racing Australia team owner Craig Scutella and Lochie the son of the team’s General Manager of Operations, Cam Fisher, the boys will have lots of experience behind them for the weekend.

Friday will see the duo get their first opportunities to tackle the track with multiple practice sessions before Saturday morning’s two-part qualifying session and top 10 shootout set up the first 90-minute races later that day.

On Sunday, the drivers will undergo the same schedule with two qualifying sessions, a top 10 shootout on a 90-minute race around the two kilometre circuit.

While there is no expectation on the drivers to secure good results in what is their first ever race meeting, a potential drive in one of the team’s other categories next year could transpire as a result of this weekend’s performances, with Craig open to any possibility.

The David Lowe Memorial Excel Cup takes place at Winton Motor Raceway on December 6-8.
